The concept of the courtyard house reinterprets the suburban ideal of a detached house sitting in the middle of a plot. By carefully designing the layout of the houses around a compact outdoor area, it is possible to have easy, level access from living and bedroom areas to a sheltered private garden.

The courtyard house concept has been designed from the outset as an integrated whole. The living areas have been arranged to maximise sunlight and privacy, while second storeys are carefully located to allow views out to the sea but minimise overshadowing.

In addition to the private gardens, each of the houses has an outdoor area looking out to the landscaped private lanes. The houses themselves are designed to ensure good acoustic separation and low maintenance.

They are ideal for the elderly, a young family or couple who wish to be close to the sea without having a large property.
